The Brigidine College at Maroubra was once a place of lively social interaction and nurturing, from both the former Brigidine College and The French School. Now the grounds will see a revival of that spirit of companionship and community with the building of St Brigid’s Green, a new concept in retirement living and residential aged care.
The Holy Family Parish of Maroubra worked closely with Greengate, specialists in the creation of care-based retirement villages, to understand the needs of local residents and to conceive a vibrant and caring community. Greengate specialises in working with Catholic parishes and their communities to build successful community based seniors' villages. They recently completed St Peter’s Green, Lane Cove North.
More than 80 people have already decided they will call St Brigid’s Green their home, when they start to move in at the end of 2013.
