Road to a hundred |

Mildred Newton, who turned 100 in September 2007 was visited by NRMA's CEO, Tony Stuart, who congratulated her on being one of NRMA Motoring & Services' longest standing members .
Mr Stuart said Ms Newton has been associated with the NRMA for most of its 87-year history and was a member of our foundation staff.
"By 1920 there were 20,000 vehicles on the road, a figure that was to grow to 60,000 only four years later," he said,
Ms Newton was employed as a stenographer at NRMA.
Mr Stuart joined Ms Newton to celebrate her birthday at an afternoon tea held at St Columba's Retirement Centre in Lane Cove. He presented her with flowers and a gift. |
