| Organic rosehip oil |
| |
From its Lane Cove head office and factory, The Purist Company is changing the way we think about what we put on our skin.
The Purist Company is an Australian company now exporting globally and it offers products made with pure certified organic ingredients. The latest of which is A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil containing highly concentrated rosa canina seed extracts, made by using extremely low temperatures for oil extraction, allowing it to retain its optimal form to deeply nourish, moisturise and boost skin tissue for more vibrant, glowing and healthy looking complexion.
The A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is 100 per cent certified organic containing no less than 80 per cent highly potent essential oils in the form of omega 9 (oleic acid) to sooth and soften, omega 3 (alpha-linolenic acid) which is anti-inflammatory, and omega 6 (linoleic acid) anti-inflammatory and known to reduce acne. Essential fatty acids help to regenerate skin cells and repair damaged tissues.
It also contains vitamin E, a free radical scavenger, which boosts skin tissue resulting in more vibrant, glowing and healthy looking skin. |

| Pro-vitamin A |
| |
A unique feature of the oil is the natural form of trans-retinoic acid (pro-vitamin A) to help to revitalise, brighten and restore the skin’s natural luminosity.
A’kin Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil is rapidly absorbed and can be applied directly onto all skin types including sensitive and fragile skins. According to The Purist Company’s technical director Will Evans, the oil is the purest sweetest smelling oil of rose hips, arguably the most beneficial plant extract available for improving skin vitality and health.
He said in choosing the purest, sweetest smelling and most effective rosehip oil, Will found some oils stained the skin or had pungent odour reminiscent of fish oils. When he finally found a suitable oil, it smelt sweet, had wonderful absorption and was highly favoured by those who tested it.
The unique difference is in the combination of the species selected, rosa canina together with new method of oil extraction called ‘supercritical’ which is gentle for the recovery of fragile plant ingredients. The method is environmentally safe without harmful emissions or waste streams. |

| Brief company history |
| |
In 1987, Will Evans began manufacturing personal hair and skin care products. Will’s vision was to develop pure, effective, luxurious hair and skin care products from natural ingredients. The result was Al’chemy and demand quickly grew from loyal customers who wanted less chemicals in their life and in 1994 Al’chemy was launched Australia-wide.
In 1997 Will moved from Perth to Sydney and established The Purist Company in a small factory in Katoomba and later at Lane Cove. Here, he experimented with and refined his formulations until he was satisfied that The Purist Company products combined the latest in scientific knowledge with the best ingredients nature can supply.
In 2002 the A’kin brand was launched and a variety of A’kin skin care products were sold in pharmacies and health food stores
In 2004, The Purist Company spread to international markets including the UK and USA. The products received many international and local awards. |
